SERIES LOG LINE
A vision of the future compels one man to expose deceit,
sexual scandal, and murder among the ruling elite.
Prophets & Kings is an edgy one-hour dramatic television series. The setting is 877 B.C. where kingdoms rise and fall in epic battles. Samaria (Israel), has forgotten her pledge to God who led them out of slavery and finds themselves a divided nation under corrupt leadership. Samaria’s royalty will become infamous and the one man who defies them will change the course of history.
King Ahab and Queen Jezebel define the religious practice of Samaria. Their god, Baal-Melqart, satisfies hedonistic indulgences; male and female temple prostitutes seek the propitious approval of Samaria’s new god. The priests wield controlling power over the populace and feed their god with the sacrifice of children.
The opulence of Samaria’s capital holds no equal, nor does the beautiful Queen Jezebel’s insatiable thirst for power. Ornate marble steps of the palace snake up to the leaders’ seat of authority under gold-crowned arches and surrounded by solid gold pillars. Strength and indulgence define Samaria until the prophet Elijah declares, in the name of Israel’s true God, that there will be no rain until he commands it. It is the end of their abundance.
Based on true events and real-life historical characters, Prophets & Kings’ action-packed narrative plunges the audience into a compelling journey, portraying the miraculous as it happened. Drawing inspiration from the biblical text, each episode climaxes with a major biblical event.
Multiple characters’ lives are interlocked in the dramatic narrative, building dynamic plot cliffhangers in an anthology that moves the audience from one episode to the next. Respecting the authenticity of the scriptures, the award-winning scripts place our audience in the middle of an unexpected larger-than-life journey. The production value is set to deliver a binge-watching audience with the expectation that each episode is carved out of the series’ powerful cinematic experience.
Unprecedented in historic and realistic biblical narrative, Prophets & Kings reveals the unnerving parallels between today’s culture and the world of 877 B.C. The relatable connection between then and now cements the relevance of Scripture to modern life.
